The Budding Playwrights Festival celebrates the creativity of new writers with staged readings of play excerpts and scenes. This year marks the 14th Budding Playwrights Festival presented by Rosebud Theatre & School of the Arts.
Audience members will be treated to the work of six writers, all of whom have completed Rosebud’s playwriting class. The excerpts are rehearsed by skilled actors and directors from the Rosebud company and shared with the public for the first time.
This year’s Festival features award winning playwright Chris Cragin-Day, whose plays and musicals have been produced in New York City and around the world to favourable reviews in The New Yorker, The Village Voice, Broadway World, and more. Chris’s bold writing about faith and the human experience will undoubtedly find resonance with Rosebud audiences.
